To address the need for more clinical research in Montana and other rural regions of the United States, the McLaughlin Research Institute has established the first patient registry in the state of Montana (the HERO (Helping Expand Research Opportunities) in the newly-formed Clinical Research Center, directed by Dr. Tiffany Hensley McBain. Dr. Hensley-McBain receives NIH grant

Dr. Tiffany Hensley-McBain received a grant from National Institutes of Health this month. The grant, Montana’s first NIH funding focused on Alzheimer’s disease in over 30 years, supports Dr. Hensley-McBain’s research on neutrophils in the immune system. Her goal is to determine if these cells contribute to Alzheimer's disease in persons with a specific genetic risk factor.
